Tae Kwon Do
The literal interpretation of the word is broken down into the following
meanings:
Tae stands for jumping or flying, to kick or smash with the foot
Kwon denotes the fist; chiefly to punch or to destroy with the hand or fist
Do means an art or way
Tae Kwon Do was developed more than twenty centuries ago in Korea its main
feature is that it is a free fighting combat sport using bare hands and
feet to repel opponents.
Since it was developed originally as a defense against enemy attack, all
its activities are based on a defensive spirit. Tae Kwon Do is not only
a superior art of self-defense, but it builds wisdom and self-confidence
in its practitioners.
